who we are
About CHF
Cheerful Humanitarian Foundation (CHF) is a non-governmental organization committed to improving the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable populations across African communities. Founded in 2012 and officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria on 17th July, 2025, CHF operates from Abuja, Nigeria, with a heart for service that reaches rural communities, orphanages, and internally displaced persons (IDP) camps.
Driven by compassion and a deep sense of responsibility to humanity, CHF exists to bring hope, dignity, and sustainable support to orphans, widows, youths, and vulnerable families who face daily socio-economic challenges.
Our mission
To visit orphanage homes, internally displaced persons’ camps, and rural communities across Africa, providing food, clothing, skills acquisition opportunities, educational support, and essential resources that promote dignity, resilience, and sustainable well-being.
Our vision
To significantly improve the well-being and quality of life of vulnerable people—especially widows, orphans, and internally displaced persons—within African communities.
Our Core Value
Compassion – We believe compassion is the foundation of true humanitarian service and the driving force behind every action we take.
Our Story
Cheerful Humanitarian Foundation was born out of compassion and a genuine concern for humanity. The vision was inspired by Mr. Ben Sunday, a God-loving young man from a small village, who had a deep passion for children, teenagers, and youths within his community.
Beginning in 2012, Mr. Ben Sunday initiated an annual gathering of young people from his local church, CRM, held every January 2nd or 3rd. The purpose was simple yet profound—to pray together before they returned to school, work, or their various places of assignment after the holidays. This gathering fostered spiritual growth, unity, and encouragement.
As the years passed, the group—later known as Eagle Generation—grew numerically, spiritually, and socially. Through close interaction, it became evident that many members struggled with school fees, basic needs, or had lost one or both parents. Widows within the community also lacked adequate care and support.
Moved by these realities, and guided by compassion, Mr. Ben Sunday and Mr. Onuh Onuh Majesty took a decisive step in 2025 to formally establish and register the initiative as Cheerful Humanitarian Foundation (CHF), transforming a grassroots act of kindness into a structured humanitarian organization with a broader impact.
